Necessity Will Find A Way!

Lately, I've been wondering if my drumming days are over. It's a crushing thought. If it were to come to frution, I'm not sure I could bare. And my girlfriend has had to live with me for the last couple of weeks. While I nagged and sobbed. And she has her own things to deal with.

I've been having the same dream. A guy up on a hill or on top of a building, outside, playing drums. Tonight I did just that!

I've had a place to practice drums for 16 years. Suddenly, I no longer have the studio. I couldn't afford to keep it with the crappy job I had. I've been looking at my drums for 2 weeks, unable to play them. And it finally drove me crazy. I went for a motorcycle ride to try and clear my head and ended up at Mansfield Dam. Soon as I got there I thought, "I COULD PLAY DRUMS HERE!"

I texted my girlfriend so that a saner mind could prevail. She said she wanted to come out and take pictures. Off I was.

So there I am, loading my drums in 95 degree weather, thinking all the time...this is nuts. But I couldn't help it. I had to play drums. To the amusement of everyone who was there, I'm sure. They never thought they would see a guy playing double kick underneath some trees next to Mansfield Dam. But they did!!! And so, I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I never thought I would be playing drums, there, while my girlfriend, my love, took pictures. And when the light was all but gone... she watched, with her girl Gypsy, and rooted for me. How lucky I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think - I will - Drum Again!!!!!!!!
